Summer 2003 Newsletter

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

How time flies by!  As we celebrate our fifth year in this ministry, I am very excited that the Lord has given us another direction of how He can use this organization to minister to those U.S. missionaries working overseas.  No, we have not changed our vision.  Our vision remains as solid and intact as ever.  However, these services we’ve added are meant to support our missionaries by assisting with some of their administrative responsibilities

We have found that the services most  missionaries receive from their home churches are not sufficient in meeting their needs.  In light of this, we have expanded these services beyond the minor function of bookkeeping.  Our intent is to establish timely communication with their supporters.   Again, we believe this is a critical aspect of keeping a strong link with supporters.  In some cases, these missionaries are not always able to have access to email.  In most cases, these missionaries do not always have the luxury of time to commit to this administrative function in a timely fashion.  Our organization is committed to bridge that gap between the missionaries and their supporters.   (For more details of these services, please go to the link at the home page.)  As we continue to pray for guidance and direction, we believe this is His answer to our prayer.

Lastly, I would like to end by examining ourselves and how closely we are  following the Lord’s command before He ascended to heaven.  In Matthew 28:19-20, the Lord said, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. . . . (KJV).   We must ask ourselves, am I truly practicing good stewardship by giving to my church?  Is the church or congregation I give to, focused in fulfilling our Lord’s great command?  What else can I do beyond giving my tithes to my church to help fulfill the great commission?

Yours in Christ,

 Melanie Owen
